The Infamous Joe Pipe

Joe Pipe, aka Concert Joe, aka Joe Sarkis, knows not the word moderation. He is the world record holder for most concerts attended in one year period, (see Concert Joe: A NY Story, a documentary by Roy Szuper) Joe possesses one of the world’s largest rock t-shirt and live music collections. He is also one of the most prolific and creative pipe makers in the world. His collection of pipes, featured numerous times in High Times magazine, include a chess set, a Gibson SG, a saxophone, a joint made to look like the Star Trek Enterprise, a cane pipe that James Bond would be proud of, the original Buzzbee (Frisbee with a pipe in the middle) that was used by the Beastie Boys on their tours in the 90’s as well as dozens of other designs he has conjured up. He has smoked with B real of Cypress Hill and other rock stars who smoke openly and is a fixture in the NY music scene.

With the explosion of marijuana culture, Joe has been looking to translate his creativity into a business. Joe has tried to capitalize on his relationships with many music promoters and club owners, asking them to invest in his business idea. He has approached longtime friends like club owner Peter Shapiro, owner of Brooklyn Bowl in NY, London and Vegas, and the Capital Theater. He has also approached noted music promoters like Steve Weitzmans and Ron Delsener and has set up meetings with stoner magazines like High Times and Relix. Joe is also making plans to try sell his pipes at 4/20 conventions and at marijuana conventions in cities like Amsterdam and Vancouver where marijuana is legal.

As smoking is still illegal in New York, many of Joe’s pipes have been designed to avoid arrest while smoking in public. Some of these stealth designs require hands on demonstrations so Joe has recently taken to enthusiastically creating comic instructional videos that show their best functional use. He has essentially become the Ed Wood of pot videos. The making of these videos could be taken to another level of ridiculousness and pro-pot celebrities could take part in them.
